Myrtleville Beach

Myrtleville Beach is the closest beach to Cork City and ideal to get to the coast for an hour and maybe catch a glimpse of seals!
Although there’s no official beach car park the approach road is wide and can facilitate lots of cars on either side. Myrtleville Beach

Myrtleville has an easy gradient and plenty of space providing a safe environment for all types of water sports including Surfing, Kayaking, Windsurfing, Kite Surfing!

Fountainstown Beach

As a seaside village, Fountainstown’s Blue Flag beach overlooks Ringabella creek to the south. It is situated approximately 23km south of Cork City. It is separated by small promontory headland from the nearby village and beach at Myrtleville.
The coast road between Fountainstown and nearby Myrtleville is used as a walk or promenade.

There are actually two beach areas at Fountainstown.

The Front Beach is located at the entrance to the village, facing east towards Ringabella, and is the more frequently used. The beach can be pebbly or sandy, depending on the tides. The Back Beach, which also faces east, is located on a promontory in Ringabella Bay and is generally sandy, though the water is shallow. The two beaches are approximately 700m apart.

Garretstown Beach

Garretstown Beach is located within a short distance of Ballinspittle village by car. Facilities include a car park and toilets. There is also a Pitch’N’Putt course nearby.

Garretstown Beach CorkIt’s a great family beach with all the facilities including a seasonal lifeguard service. With a ramp down to the beach, Garrettstown is also accessible.
This is one of the most popular surfing beaches in the area.
