Leisure Breaks - Fota Island Golf Club

Fota Island Golf Club is located just 15 minutes drive from the hotel, in the heart of a 780 acre estate, which is included in the “Inventory of Outstanding Landscapes of Ireland”. Arguably one of the finest golf course challenges in the region, Fota Island was the venue for the 2001 and 2002 Murphy's Irish Open. A classic championship venue, Fota has also hosted the Irish PGA Championship and no fewer than three Irish Amateur Courses.

Golf Monthly said of Fota “...you'll stand in wide eyed admiration”

Golf Digest enthused “It makes you think. It's real golf”

Golf World judged Fota to be “pick of the lot”

The clubhouse incorporates the creative conversion of some beautiful stone farm buildings, fully in keeping with the ambience of Fota. Facilities include a ground level “Spike Bar”, a fully stocked Pro Shop, attractively appointed locker rooms and “Niblicks” Restaurant. The splendid woodlands are woven into the challenging course, which is complemented by an impressive driving range, with practice putting and chipping greens. Golf clubs, powered buggies and pull trolleys are available. Visitors are most welcome every day.
